Care and consideration are given to grain patterns when milling each section of tree, we mill for quality not quantity.
In most cases, because we work closely with woodland owners and managers, we can not only tell you when the tree fell, we will also be able to say when it was planted, as is the case of the Sweet Chestnut that blew down during high winds in 2007 but was planted in the 1660's at the beginning of the Restoration period, making the tree some 350 years old.
One of the key points about our timber is that none of it comes from timber plantations, none of it has been grown solely for timber harvesting.
So, when sourcing timber for your next project why not check out our Artisan Wood Barn.
